Ujigami-jinja is a shrine in Kyoto Uji. Main hall is the oldest shrine building in existence, which was built in the late Heian period.February 2004 Nara National Research Institute for Cultural Properties and Uji City, a result of tree-ring dating surveys, such as the main shrine, it is has been backed been with those of 1060 around the “oldest surviving shrine architecture”.Ujigami-jinja has been a World Heritage Site as part of the “Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto”.
